Rooted in the Catholic tradition, Transfiguration School is a private, tuition-based, faith-based program for PreK3 through 8th Grade. Transfiguration offers an accelerated PreK program as part of our tuition-based program. Follow steps below for more application and admissions information.
Transfiguration also offers a 3K and PreK for All program, which is a NYC Department of Education funded program offered to any student in NYC for free. Register on myschools.nyc.gov and search for Transfiguration to apply for a seat in this program.

Our Admissions Process
Step I
Register for Open House (Info Session & In Person Campus Visit)
Join Us for an Open House
Register above for the Open House date that works best for your family.
We invite prospective families to visit Transfiguration School and experience our community firsthand. During your Open House, members of our Leadership Team will share more about our school’s philosophy, educational approach, academic programs, and what families can expect from the day-to-day student experience.
Following the introduction, families will tour the school while classes are in session, giving you the opportunity to see our learning environment, teachers, and students in action.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:
- Meet members of our Leadership Team, faculty, and staff
- Experience our school environment during a typical school day
- Learn about our academic, enrichment, and extracurricular programs
- Hear about our academic expectations and student achievements
- See how students learn, grow, and progress from grade to grade
- Ask questions and learn more about the Transfiguration School experience

Step II
Apply for Entry and Schedule an Assessment
Complete an application form (FORM BELOW) and submit electronically to [email protected] or by mail/in person at your child's School Campus OR the Main Office, 29 Mott Street, NYC 10013.
Contact [email protected] or call 212-962-5265 to schedule your assessment. A $50 application fee (non-refundable) per student payable to Transfiguration School is also required prior to the assessment.
Step III
Register and Submit Documentation
Once you have received official notification of acceptance, you must sign our Enrollment Agreement and complete the necessary forms for registration. You must also submit copies of the following records and required payment within two weeks of the date on your acceptance letter or your placement into the school will be forfeited.
- Birth Certificate (original and copy)
- Health Examination Form (original and copy)

Baptism Certificate if Catholic (original and copy)
Please note the following:
- TUITION AND FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
- Please reference the Tuition and Fee Schedule available on our website or in the school office.
- Transfiguration School uses BLACKBAUD TUITION MANAGEMENT to collect its payments. Instructions on how to make your payments electronically will be issued at registration.
